Vittoria's new Corsa N.EXT is the perfect tyre for every day riding

Vittoria's Corsas are probably the best bike tyres on the market. They've just been ridden round France for three weeks by multiple teams - including eventual winners Jonas Vingegaard and Jumbo Visma - and have been one of the go to tyres for ride quality, grip and rolling resistance for many years now.

But that doesn't mean that Vittoria have been sitting around congratulating themselves on a job well done and watching the wins roll in - far from it, in fact - and their new Corsa N.EXT tyre is proof that the Italian brand are constantly looking for new ways to make their tyres better and, in this case, make their best tyres more applicable to every day riders.

So what's different about the Corsa N.EXT? Well it's the first ever Corsa made from a nylon rather than a cotton casing, which is three layers of nylon below the centre tread. The tread also uses a new combination of compound technologies, bringing graphene and silica together (graphene at the edges and silica in the middle) for Vittoria claim is a 9% improvement in speed/rolling resistance versus traditional compounds, a 32% improvement in grip and a 21% boost in puncture protection. So, you know, pretty good then.

Here's the really good bit about the Corsa N.EXT: it's cheaper. Designed as more of an every day tyre for the avid amateur rather than a full on World Tour level race tyre, the Corsa N.EXT is £10 cheaper than the Corsa or Corsa Control in either clincher or TLR versions, so £54.99 for clincher and £64.99 TLR. There are a wide range of, er, widths available too, from 24mm all the way up to 34mm in 2mm increments (that's 24, 26, 28, 30, 32 and 34 for anyone who can't be bothered doing the maths).

Basically this is a performance tyre you can ride every day knowing that while you might be giving a way a little in pure performance to a cotton Corsa, you're gaining in puncture protection and wear resistance. It's a product developed for normal riders rather than just for pros and there's nothing to not like about that.

You can check out the Corsa N.EXT on the Vittoria website and, of course, you can buy them right here on Freewheel
