Never heard of si.shimano? You're missing out

Sometimes choosing new bits for your bike is difficult because you can’t choose what you want. That’s a good type of decision. But there are times when you just can’t figure out what you need – like which brake pads work with your calipers – and that can be really frustrating.

Fortunately, if you’re running Shimano, there’s an online resource that can help you solve all those little problems and it’s called si.shimano.com. On there you’ll find more information than you could ever possibly need about what works with what. There are even compatibility charts showing you which groupset parts will work with each other.

If you're a bike nerd you'll absolutely LOVE si.shimano.com

Plus there’s always the exploded view diagrams, which are perfect for when you need to change pads in your disc calipers but want to make sure that the ones you’re buying will fit, or if you manage to lose the bleed port cover and you need another one to replace it. All the spare parts are on there along with their part codes, and all you need to do is type that into Freewheel or call up your local bike shop and order the bit that you need.

Remember, though, that this isn’t the solution to all life’s problems. Some things, like replacing brake pads or hood covers are relatively simple, but if something more intricate or complicated needs doing to your bike the best solution is to find a bike shop with an expert mechanic and let them diagnose and fix it. You can find a list of all the Shimano Service Centres in the UK here, every one of which will be able to fix a Shimano-equipped bike to the very highest standards.

And don't forget, Shimano spares are all available right here on Freewheel. Just type in the code from the Si SHimano document in the search bar and you'll be ready to go.
