Now that we're (finally) at the end of 2020, we thought we'd share with you some of the things we've enjoyed using this year. Some of it's new, some of it isn't, but all of it is kit that we've found ourselves using more often than not, and it's been nice to have a few things to rely on in a year where everything else seems to be in a constant state of flux. Here are our favourite products in 2020.

Finish Line Super Bike Wash

We bang on about cleaning your bike a lot on Freewheel, like a lot a lot, so nobody’s going to be surprised that one of our favourite products this year has been Finish Line’s Super Bike Wash. No, it’s not new, it’s just really good, and like all good products it stands the test of time.

This stuff is great. Just spray it on the bike post-ride, leave it for a few minutes to do its work then wash off. Makes cleaning simple enough that you’ll really struggle to find excuses to not clean your bike, which is a good thing.

Dynaplug Racer and Vittoria Corsa Control TLR

Fantastic tubeless road tyres and the perfect puncture fix, what’s not to like? While Vittoria’s Corsa might be the premium performance road tyre on the market, the Corsa Control are a much better day-to-day tyre other than maybe in summer when the roads are a little better. The Corsa Control is all the fun of the Corsa, with a little more puncture protection added in. Chuck in tubeless on top of that and you have a really nice riding experience indeed.

The only thing that can make those rides better is having Dynaplug in your back pocket. Sealant can struggle a road tyre pressures, but combine it with Dynaplug and you’re laughing. Sure, you might want to carry a spare tube with you as the ultimate last resort in case something really untoward happens, but that might be the only tube you need, which is a really good thing. We’ve gone from road tubeless sceptics to converts in less than a year, and Dynaplug is a big reason why. On or off-road, Dynaplug is the perfect tubeless companion.

100% HiPER Coral lenses

This isn't so much a specfic product as 100%'s new HiPER Coral lenses that are available on a whole bunch of their glasses. Basically, they're lenses designed for low light riding and they're absolutely brilliant. We dont like riding without eye protection at any time of the year, but in winter it can be hard because clear lenses don't always make things easier. The HiPER Coral lenses, though, provide all the clarity we've come to expect from 100%'s top end lenses, but with the bonus of making it a bit easier to see things when the conditions aren't great by smoothing out the differences between the bright and dull parts of the road/trail.
