I have been in the bicycle trade for in excess of 30 years so have plenty experience of servicing and repairing many types of bicycles, tricycles and e-bikes. To keep my well practised skills refreshed and up to date, I have recently (July 2021) successfully completed a City and Guilds cycle mechanics course, level 2. It’s one of the highest globally recognised qualifications a cycle technician can get… I am always keen to learn about the latest developments in the cycling world. I used to ride bikes a lot. Planetary 14 Bikes is an independent bicycle service and repair business based about 4 miles from Berwick upon Tweed in the county of Northumberland. Our area of operation covers North Northumberland and the Eastern Scottish Borders. We will travel to you in our van (by appointment) to make an assessment of your bicycle’s remedial requirements. Once inspected, we will give you an estimate of the cost of any work needed. If this cost is acceptable, we will take the bike to our workshop then return it to you when the job is done. If you need us, simply phone, e-mail or message us and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. We are the local authorised supplier/service agent for Volt and Wisper electric bikes and usually hold a number of demonstrators. We will bring them to your home to try. We are specialists in the assembly of bicycles fitted with the Rohloff Speedhub 500/14. This is a high quality hub gear system engineered in Germany which does away with the need for multiple chainrings and rear cogs. Usually built using a less expensive but good quality frame as a starting point, we can offer a brand new, complete bicycle for sale at a very competitive price compared to other outlets. We are happy to do a proper build and ‘setting up’ of bikes bought online from other outlets so that you, the customer, will have peace of mind that your new bike will work as it should.The ‘last mile’ delivery is done by us so we may hand it over to you in perfect condition, adjust it for your size and riding style then explain it’s operation.
