"I first started working at Pennine Cycles over 30 years ago, I became the manager and when the founder Johnny Mapplebeck retired in 2000, myself and my wife bought the business which was the best thing we have done. Being able to have a business which combines my passion and hobby is something I am always grateful for. Over the years, cycling has changed a lot with both technology and also with consumer behaviour. We try hard to continue to be the local bike shop but at the same time have customers from around the world who return to us. In recent years, we have become active on social media as we see this as a great way to connect with our customers and the cycling community.
I ride my bike almost every day and have done since I sold my car many years ago. I am almost always in the shop, so if you want to call in to browse our cycling gallery & shop then I will welcome you with a coffee. Over the years I have learnt a lot about cycling but I'm always keen to learn more and will happily talk cycling with anyone who will listen! " Paul Corcoran, Store Manager.
