"In 1981, after serving an apprenticeship in engineering at Newalls, I started working at Bristows Cycles shop on Lincoln Road. At that time, it was run by my father, who opened the shop in 1973. Since then, my passion for cycling has only grown stronger by competing in several events, including the 1993 Ironman triathlon in Holland. Nowadays, in between running Bristows Cycles with my wife, I am just happy to get out on my bike and ride with friends, taking on the occasional sportive." David Coxhead, Store Owner.

About the store

Bristows Cycles was established in 1973 as an independent family run bike shop by Michael Coxhead and it is still run so today by his son, David. All the staff members at Bristows are avid cyclists, so we understand the problems people have with their bikes, whether it be getting comfortable in the saddle, or just sorting out that annoying squeak or creak on your bike. Good customer service is something we pride ourselves on and we’ll do what we can to keep you on your bike, whether you’re a novice, expert or general enthusiast. Our workshop is fully equipped, and we stock a good range of products from bikes, clothing and helmets, to parts and puncture kits.
