Lazer Bullet 2.0: Lighter, cooler, visor-ier

Lazer Bullet 2.0: Lighter, cooler, visor-ier

Aero is everything, apparently. Except, of course aero means nothing if you have the fastest helmet in the world but it’s so hot and uncomfortable that you don’t want to wear it. Almost all aero helmets have to strike a balance between being fast and being breathable, but Lazer have worked super hard with the Bullet 2.0 on making sure you don’t have to compromise between the two.

It’ll come as no surprise that the main focus of the Bullet 2.0 is ventilation. Check out the inner of the helmet and you’ll see that it has been totally redesigned featuring all-new brow vents and deeper air channels across the crown. Those are combined with the Venturi cap on the top which improves air acceleration through the helmet which makes sure that air entering the front is sucked right out of the back rather than pooling inside and heating up.

Combine that with the Airslide, which has been improved to make it easier to open and close, and you have an aero lid that’s genuinely comfortable to wear – even in warm weather. Don’t believe us? Check out Team Jumbo Visma and Team Sunweb at the Tour Down Under. In fact, Lazer say this one has 11% better thermal heat loss than the previous Bullet.

The most noticeable change to the second-generation Bullet, though, is undoubtably the visor. It’s a Zeiss lens with magnetic attachments designed to fit under the front lip of the helmet or be safely stored away on the dock at the back. The visor also boosts the aerodynamic performance of the helmet – similar to the way that plenty of TT lids come with integrated visors – so it’s not just a style improvement, but a performance one too.

Even though the Bullet 2.0 is a performance helmet, Lazer know you want to use it in the real world too, which is why an all new LED has been integrated into the Advanced Turnfit retention system as standard, and every model comes with reflective patches on the rear as well. The Black and Flash Yellow colourways also have reflective logos, for an extra high-vis touch.

Just like the original Bullet, there are two options in the 2.0 - one with MIPS and one without. The standard helmet will retail at £219.99 and the MIPS model is £239.99. Oh, and they’re available 31st January, so what are you waiting for?
